*Author’s Note – This is a review of the opening night performance from August 1 2024. Because of the improve nature every show will be different.*
Catching Feelings: The Romantic Juggling Show in the World was not originally intended to be at this year’s Saskatoon Fringe Festival, it replaced Neurospicy by Cate McCoy at the last minute.
This is the world premiere of Jason Circus’s production that was intended to debut at the Edmonton Fringe Festival from August 15-24 2024.
Circus is infectious, quick witted and a showman that effortlessly made this show irresistibly charming, surprising and must see because of the improv nature and unpredictable element of the production.
Circus is able to create a magic show that is as hilarious, charming and surprising making it a unique attraction at this year’s Fringe festival.
This is an unabashedly, electric, Fringe show that hits the ground running from Circus crooning songs such as “The Love Juggler” to serenading the audience and volunteers with “More Candlelight” to culminating with a 80’s style power ballad while juggling plastic hearts.
Because of the heavily encouraged audience participation portion, each show hopes to be wildly different. The volunteers selected for this particular performance were good sports and took the show in a surprising direction as Circus utilized a version of The Match Game, Dating Game and many other similar game show style formats.
This show is funny, unpredictable, delightfully magical and dripping with heart that is anchored by the charming Circus who sells the premise with ease.
Catching Feelings: The Romantic Juggling Show in the World is running from August 1st-10th 2024 in Saskatoon at The Refinery. Circus is also performing as an outdoor street performer throughout the festival.
Tickets can be bought online at the box office or at the venue itself.
